Melissa is one of those people who eats a lot and never gains a pound, but no matter how hard you might try, you won’t be able to hate her for it. She’s just too nice. It’s hard to dislike someone who played “Miss America pageant” with her sister and cousins during her childhood and who admits to having a black belt … in shopping.

Melissa also has a mischievous side. She and her friends soaped the fountain at her university every year, turning it into a huge bubble bath for Frosh week until university officials got wise and turned the fountain off during that time.

But don’t believe for a minute that Melissa is all fun and games. She isn’t your average law firm receptionist. She has a B.A. with Honors in History from York University where she won an Ontario Scholar Award and three honor roll certificates. And she intends to put that education to further good use by continuing on to law school.

In fact, Melissa is into law from every angle. She’s around it all day at Gelman & Associates, but she also loves watching Law & Order and other crime shows on television in her spare time. Sounds like a born lawyer, right?

Melissa also loves to travel. Her mother is from Montserrat, and Melissa had the sobering but fascinating experience of visiting the island and seeing the destruction from the volcano firsthand. On a happier note, one of her favorite places to vacation is Bermuda, where she has friends that she visits regularly.

Melissa is exceptionally good with people. All through her time as an undergraduate, she worked part-time in retail and served as a Frosh Boss to help the new students adjust to university life. What better person to have at the front desk greeting our clients?
