As the office “Jacq of All Trades,” Jacquie can be called upon to fix just about anything – a computer, an accounting problem, a human resource issue, or even the dishwasher! She is skilled in all sorts of things from gourmet cooking to running a chain saw, but no, she doesn’t make house calls.
Jacquie’s “fix-it” nature serves her in her profession as well. She has an undergraduate degree in social sciences and is currently working toward the National Exam for CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) Designation. She has 20 years of experience in organizations where intellectual capital was the product, and she worked in operations management in both the legal field and IT, focusing on finance and human resources.
One of Jacquie’s strengths is managing companies through high periods of growth, helping them to build the foundations they need to grow to the next level. That’s a pretty good strength to have, isn’t it? But Jacquie also uses these strengths on a volunteer basis. She has served on the boards of a number of charity organizations.
When she isn’t working or fixing things, Jacquie loves adventure. She’s into downhill skiing and calls herself “extremely competitive.” Her husband has been into yacht racing for 20 years, so Jacquie said, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!” Since meeting him, she has been a crew member on several large sailboats, racing in most of the premier regattas around Lake Ontario. In other words, she’s not a “delicate flower” type.
Even though Jacquie is an active woman, she also loves to get cozy in country cottages. In fact, she grew up in a cottage in Minden, Ontario and loves returning there for visits. On the home front, Jacquie and her husband manage the life of an 80-pound American Field Labrador. But as a Jacq of All Trades, amateur dog trainer is just another talent on Jacquie’s long list of skills.
