3) Can I throw away everything related to my old job now (it all just brings up bad memories)?
You should keep absolutely EVERYTHING related to your former employment and, indeed, any position you held prior to obtaining your last employment. If your matter proceeds through the courts, you will be expected to prepare what is called an Affidavit of Documents, where you list all of the documents you now possess, or formerly possessed, related to the court action and, by extension, your employment. If you fail to disclose any document, you may not be allowed to rely upon it at a future date.
