3) I want to put this entire ordeal behind me and just plead guilty. Is this a good idea?
Pleading guilty to a criminal offence can have a major impact on a persons life. Because the decision is ultimately the accused persons, they should think carefully about it. They should keep in mind that the law imposes a certain standard of proving guilt that is different than simply whether or not the accused person feels guilty. The lawyers job is to ensure that the prosecution is held to this standard and proves their case.
